Configure Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code to launch Travel Animator over stdio.
Claude Desktop
Open the desktop developer configuration. On macOS the file is ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json; on Windows it is %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json. Merge the server entry and restart the app.
{

"travel-animator": {
"command": "travel-animator",
"args": [
"mcp"
]
}
}
}Claude Code
After installing the package and signing in, register the executable from your terminal. Use the client’s MCP controls to confirm it is connected.
claude mcp add travel-animator -- travel-animator mcpCursor
Add the same JSON configuration to .cursor/mcp.json in your project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for your user. Enable the server in Cursor’s MCP settings.
{
"mcpServers": {
"travel-animator": {
"command": "travel-animator",
"args": [
"mcp"
]
}
}
}VS Code
VS Code uses a servers object rather than mcpServers. Save this in your workspace MCP configuration and start the server using the editor’s MCP controls.
{
"servers": {
"travel-animator": {
"type": "stdio",
"command": "travel-animator",
"args": [
"mcp"
]
}
}
}When the command is not found
Desktop apps may not see your terminal PATH. Find the installed executable, then replace command with its full path. If you installed into a virtual environment, use that environment’s executable.
- Windows: run where travel-animator.
- Keep args as ["mcp"].
- Restart the client after changing its configuration.
which travel-animatorVerify every client
Ask the assistant to call get_capabilities and auth_status. Travel Animator uses a local process; there is no hosted server URL to paste into a remote connector.
